Timely Completion

Timely completion now there is a conversation for some comedian to have when Northdown first came our home to do their survey and to put in their bid for the contract. They stated catagoically that the entire job would take between 5 and 8 working days. That was in the begining of April we are now in July and still at least 8 days of work to complete. The ramp still has not been completed there are no handrails on it yet because the contractor thought it would be better to use 22mm piping for this job rather than what the DDA of 2010 recommended of 45-50mm so the 22mm upstands have been removed and nothing put in their place yet. We had a 2 week holiday booked and were told that it would all be completed by the time we returned. the 48mm piping was delivered the day after we left as we say it on our ring camera system. Still nothing done some 2 weeks after we returned. The hallways is still missing its skirt boards as they broke them when they removed them. The stair lift hits the piping of the downstairs radiator, The bathroom has no door, the tiling is still to be completed, the bathroom cabinet which they broke has yet to be replaced the radiator is still to be reinstalled. the shower isolater is in the wrong position (actually in the confinnes of the shower curtain!!!!!) the floor seems to tilt towatds where the toilet is rather than towards the central drain of the shower. The Shower unit that they installed is still the wrong one it. The first time it was installed I got a shock from the shower as some of the ater was gushing around inside the electrical shower unit. The next day the contarcktor said he had fixed it. We could only get cold water from it. (after he claimed to have tested it) then they said the show was faulty and they replaced it. Finally we had a hot shower two months after they started. BUT STILL THE WRONG SHOWER UNIT. the bathroom ceiling is now about 4" thicker than it was when they started. dont ask as I dont know why. So four months in and we are still a massively long way from the completion. Which is why I have take the decission to cancel our contract with NORTHDOWN and any of its subcontractors. For around £30,000 I expected something nice and to not make our home a building site for this length of time. It is difficult enough for a disabled lady to use a bathroom let alone to use one without a door or even completed inside and what was effectively a floating toilet (not fixed to the floor or the wall. Northdown never answered a single call I made with a complaint nor did they respond to my emails. All I can say is SHAME ON YOU you show compensate us for all of this turmoil that you have put us through. and be HONEST on your website
