Door Hanging
So previously we had a solid pine door on the bathroom, which matched all the other doors in the house. The door was to be rehung so that it opened the other way. The task was simple enough remove the door locking mechanism and reverse it, then place it back into the door. The door frame is about 3mmout of true (Not uncommon for an older house) so normally you shim one side and then carefully trim the door if required for a snug fit. remove the hinges reverse them seat them in the other side of the frame fill the old holes in the opposite side and fit said door. Well that is what should have happened. The filling of the holes looked like it had been done by a 3 year old with playdough and were not even smothed down. The door when it closed now had a 10mm gap at the top and 3/4 the way down the lock side so much so that I could close the door with my fingers in the jam without damaging my fingers He had butchered the door and hacked chunks out of the frame. Although he was not skilled enough to use them. to add to the fact that he also never possessed (at this point) a tradesmans vacuum
